England School of Motoring was established over 50 years ago by Melvin England and has operated constantly since then with Family members Jade and Marcus now covering Yate, Chipping Sodbury, Frampton Cotterell, Winterbourne, Wotton - Under - Edge & Wickwar. Our Instruction

Your First Lesson & Future Lessons

The first lesson will be 2 hours and we will give you a full introduction to the basic controls of the vehicle so we can assess your ability in a quiet area with minimal traffic. We move then to 90 minute lessons once we establish your driving ability after your first lesson, we go out onto the main roads and start teaching you step by step everything you need to become a competent and confident driver.

Our Vehicles

We run Renault Clio manual's as our vehicles of choice for our pupils, we find that our pupils get used to the Clio very quickly which gives you more confidence behind the wheel.

Motorway lessons

We do offer motorway lessons for our pupils once you are at a level of competence and safe enough to do so. If you have already passed and wish to do motorway lessons to gain more confidence we can accomodate this also.

Frequently Asked Questions

What is the duration of each driving lesson?

The first lesson we offer is a 2 hour lesson so we can go through all the basics with you to ensure your safe when we first move out on to the road. After that we recommend moving forward with 90 minute lessons to give you the most opportunity to drive and learn.

What hours do you operate lessons?

Lessons are offered Monday - Sunday at very competitive rates with flexibility of time around your needs.

How long will it take until i’m test ready?

Now this is the big question! Ultimately everybody is different in how they learn but this is ability dependent. The DVSA state on average that it takes 45 hours with a professional instructor and 22 hours of private driving.

What is your driving schools pass rate?

Our pass rate is extremely high as we only recommend you take your test when your at a level that is safe, competent and we have mutually agreed your test ready to book your test.

What area do you cover?

We mainly cover Yate, Chipping Sodbury, Winterbourne, Frampton Cotterell, Wickwar and Wotton - Under - Edge. However we would consider Kingswood, Downend, Hanham, Longwell Green if we can work this around our diaries.
